In the world of hip hop music, there is a multitude of mediocrity; an infestation of imitators; Continuous carbon copying. D.F.I. strives to pull away from expectations and create new music that still holds the tradition of what hip hop has always been about: the party. Good music, great energy and presence are what D.F.I. is all about.
D.F.I. is made up of 3 core members: Rob Natural aka Bobby Dangler, who makes words and beats into thunder, Agony aka Dirk Dangler, songwriter swinger supreme and DJ Identity aka Dirty Dangler, the man who makes the party hot on the turntables. Together, D.F.I. makes music that is fun, insightful and honest, with subject matter varying from women troubles, spiritual matters, story-telling and that good old hip hop swagger microphone monster technique to how to party like a rock star.
D.F.I. was forged well over 15 years ago, when founding members Rob Nat and Agony met and began creating songs together as a hobby. Stage names were different, but the bond that was created between the two has resulted in an undeniable chemistry on stage and in song. The addition of DJ Identity as the groups wax manipulator soon took the sound and presentation of D.F.I. to a new, higher level, affecting and influencing the local Cincinnati scene with their brand of high-energy, low-inhibition hip hop.
Sharing the stage with names like Mr. Dibbs, The Animal Crackers, Odub, Definition, Blueprint, Illogic, Copywrite, Psalm One and many others, D.F.I. has gained much experience on the stage, and by doing so has created a stage show that will get people out of their seats and onto the floor.
